The Rules

PayOrPost sells advertising positions on a public board. The paid board has 200 positions at fixed prices. The earned board lists the people who sent the most verified readers the previous week. Every price and every count on the site is public.

The Paid Board

Every position has a fixed, published price. This is the rate card:

Prices are in US dollars. Other currencies on the site are guide figures only; your card is charged in dollars.

An empty position shows its price and a buy button. A sold position shows the listing and the price that was paid. You choose the position; the price never changes with demand, time or volume.

Positions 1 to 50 are the ranked section and you pick your number. Positions 51 to 200 are overflow: one price, sold only into the lowest free number, and the number is held for the whole week. A refunded overflow position stays empty until the weekly reset. When all 200 positions sell, the board is sold out for the week; it is never extended mid-week.

When you start a payment, the position is reserved for 15 minutes. If the payment does not complete, the hold lapses and the position returns to sale.

A position is yours when your payment completes, not before. The first completed payment wins. If two people pay for the same position at the same moment, the second gets the nearest free position at or below the price paid, and the difference is refunded automatically. You are never charged more than the price you saw.

A position runs for the whole week. Nothing can move your listing once paid: no later payment, no other buyer. Every position expires at the same hour, Sunday 00:00 UK time, and the board reopens empty.

One listing per URL per week. Payments are final except the automatic refund above and the removal rule below.

A row marked Sample is example content. It carries no payment, and the position stays on sale; a sample gives way the moment somebody buys its position.

The Earned Board

Every listing has a share link. Share it, then paste the URL of your post. We check the post at once: it must be public and carry the share link. Clicks through your link count only while the post is verified.

A click counts when the reader is a unique referred session: at least 5 seconds on the page, a scroll or a click, not from a datacentre address, and at most one per reader per listing per day. We keep the raw events and publish the counted figures.

When the week ends, the sharers are ranked by counted clicks. The earned board for the new week shows that ranking, frozen: rank, last week's clicks, all-time clicks, the sharer's name and their link. The board has fifty positions with the same bands as the ranked section of the paid board; unearned positions show as open.

The earned board lists people, not products. An entry is a social media handle, added with “Add your handle” on the board. URLs, domains and product names are refused, and the only link a sharer may attach is their profile on a known social platform. Entries marked Sample are examples.

The earned board shows the price a paid position in that rank would have cost. That is display text only. An earned position is a listing and nothing else: it cannot be transferred, refunded or exchanged for cash, and it is never mixed into the paid column.

An earned position is a payment in kind under UK advertising rules, so the share text carries an #ad label. Keep it when you post.

The “Request a post” button on an earned listing sends a message to us with your email, link, budget and note. No payment is taken and nothing is promised; we pass it on by email.

Sponsor Spots

There are 10 sponsor spots: five on the left rail and five on the right, so every sold spot is on the screen at all times. On a phone the same 10 spots scroll as logos in the strip above the board, and a tap on a logo opens the sponsor's link. One payment holds a spot for 30 days. The price for the next spot is published before you pay and is $350 plus $100 for each spot already sold.

The adverts rotate one box every hour, on the clock, the same for every visitor. Over ten hours every advert holds every box on both rails, so every sponsor gets equal time in every position. A box marked Sample is example content, carries no payment, never raises the price, and leaves the screen the moment the first real sponsor signs up.

What You Can List

An article, product or page you have the right to advertise.

Tracking and affiliate parameters are stripped from every link, so referral URLs do not work. Link shorteners are rejected.

The following are not allowed:

A listing that breaks these rules is removed and the payment is not refunded. These rules are published before you pay. By buying a position you confirm that you have read them and accept this, together with the terms.

What We Never Do

No prize pool, no payouts, no revenue share, no balances or stored value, no auctions, no chance. We sell advertising placement and nothing else.
